South Dakota’s government officials are constantly ranked among the nicest people in the country, but they have officially taken it to a new level of nice.

“South Dakota is the best economy in the country currently, so it’s only fitting we allow other state economies to get a head start in certain areas. Sports gambling and marijuana tax revenues are big bucks, and we believe it’ll really bring other state economies out of the COVID-slump, so-to-say. By not allowing South Dakota to do either of these two ideas, we ensure we have a great growth record in proven areas of business, while living up to our ‘South Dakota Nice’ standards,” said one South Dakota official we spoke with.

Most states surrounding South Dakota have either legalized marijuana or sports gambling, and in some cases, both.

“The citizens of South Dakota have spoken on these subjects to bring in record revenue, but we really don’t need it right now. South Dakota’s economy is as strong as ever, and we’re not looking for anymore right now. Unemployment is low, and we are seeing a surge in our economy. There’s really no use in opening up new businesses,” said the official we spoke with.

Keep up the good work, government!
